
Knife Care
Your Laguiole Tahiti is your daily partner.
As a collector or a user, your Laguiole Tahiti will kept its exceptionnal belief when giving it the following cares :
1.- Do not put it in contact with metallic or abrasive objects (keys,...), i.e. in your pockets.
2.- Do not put your Laguiole Tahiti knife in the dish-washer, or in the microwave oven.
3.- Its air-aluminum handle resists against water, but the Laguiole Tahiti must not be washed, they are only wiped.
4.- The 12C27 swedish stainless steel blade, has excellent mechnical caracteristics. Its high-level properties make the blade an easy honing blade to all.
5.-After each use, wipe your Laguile Tahiti blade with a wet cloth. Never use an abrasive surface which will scratch your blade.
6.-For an efficient honing of your Laguiole Tahiti blade, you could proceed with these two processes :
honing and grinding.
Always act with caution and be careful not to scratch the blade.
honing the blade is made with a honing stone (medium). This stone must first be wet with cold water for 8 minutes.
To sharpen your blade, make a steady and slow movement similar to a cutting gesture of retaining an angle of 30 degrees with the stone.
Consider alternating the two sides of your blade.
Ginding is intended to maintain the cutting edge of your Laguiole Tahiti.
The gesture is identical to the one you made with the honing stone.
Start by placing the heel of the blade at the tip of the magnetized steel, then descend to the custody of the magnetized steel in a gesture of cutting.
Your Laguiole Tahiti is e folding knife, it requires a maintenance of its mechanism.
Insert a drop of olive oil between the blade and spring, when the knife is fold.
Open and fold your Laguiole Tahiti, then wipe off the excess.
